BESKRIVNING

The EU AI Act marks a transformative step in Europe’s approach to regulating artificial intelligence — setting out a comprehensive, risk-based framework that will shape how companies develop, deploy, and use AI systems across the Single Market.

In this session, we will unpack the key elements of the Act, from its broad scope and extraterritorial reach to the roles and responsibilities of actors along the AI value chain. We will explore the risk classification model at the heart of the regulation, examining what it means in practice for providers, users, and other stakeholders.

The presentation will also walk through the implementation timeline and enforcement mechanisms, highlighting what corporate lawyers should prepare for as the regulation enters into force.

Importantly, this discussion will place the AI Act within the broader “omnibus digital package” of EU initiatives aimed at streamlining tech regulation and reducing compliance burdens — including potential new GDPR provisions governing the use of personal data to train AI models.

By the end of this session, participants will gain a clear understanding of how the AI Act fits into the evolving EU digital regulatory landscape — and what steps businesses can take today to stay ahead of the curve.
